Anti Virus

What is Anti Virus?

Anti Virus- one or more programs that are used to protect a computers software from malicious software.

Antivirus software was originally developed to detect and remove computer viruses, hence the name. However, with the proliferation of other kinds of malware, antivirus software started to provide protection from other computer threats. In particular, modern antivirus software can protect from: malicious browser helper objects (BHOs), browser hi jackers, ransomware, keyloggers, backdoors, rootkits, trojan horses, worms, malicious LSPs, dialers, fraud tools, adware and spyware. Some products also include protection from other computer threats, such as infected and malicious URLs, spam, scam and phishing attacks, online identity(privacy), online banking attacks, social engineering techniques, advanced persistent threat (APT) and botnet DDoS attacks.

Finding The Right Antivirus

There really is no one antivirus that is better than the rest. Antiviruses are updated all the time to protect against new types of malware. So when choosing a anti virus you should make sure the provider has been around for awhile and is not going anywhere. You also want to make sure they are not going to charge you for additional types of security unless cost is not a fracture in your decision making process. Some programs like avast are a very strong antivirus but you will not get the full benefits of there software unless you purchase each different package they offer. I always look for programs that offer a browser extension add on for maximum security as this is one of the biggest vulnerabilities when browsing the web. So depending on what browser you prefer your choice may very from mine. I personally would choose Kaspersky's Antivirus. They have been around for over 25 years and are constantly updating their software. Also they are universal with android, apple Windows and linux. They may be available with other Operating System's as well.

in addition to a good antivirus you should take into account that this is not going to be enough to truly keep your data safe. You will also need a good VPN, Data encryption method, User lock, Bios Lock, router security setup and much more as every day passes technology advances; which means so do the hackers. Alternatively you can get by with just assuming all of your data is always up for grabs, which it essentially is because even your data providers steal and sell your information. I have done this along time ago. I still use a VPN and antivirus along with mac address filtering setup on my router. But I feel there is know way to protect every lil bit of information. So instead I take into account who would rely gain from my information? The answer is nobody in my opinion. Honestly I would prefer people to try and steal my info as the more it is spread to the better my chances are of reaching more viewers, which means more money for me. Also I make sure I don't have anything to hide. If I did I sure would not take my time to hide it. People that do hide there information usually are just making it stand out more when they hide their information.

How To Get Rid Of A Virus

This can be tricky if your not really into computers then you should have a tech do it for you. If you are ready to fight the little critters in your computer then you should first download the windows malicious software removal tool. if you have another OS then you should find a good Antivirus like Kaspersky or Avast. Also there are good registry cleaning tools that provide a lot of clean up options. My favorite one is Glarys Utilities or you can go with my second choice CCleaner. if these are not working consider reinstalling the OS. If that is not a option for you then you should remove all of your programs or at least the ones that were used for cleaning or removing viruses then re-enable your Microsoft Windows Defender. Once that is complete do not update, instead plug your computer into your router via a ethernet cable or alternatively click the auto connect check mark next to the wifi connection you are using. From there you want to open up windows defender security center and click on the shield. Then select the off line scan; the computer should reboot then you will see a progressbar and right next to it there will be a option to update. Click update database and now when the computer is finished doing the offline scan you can run a Full Scan of the computer. Also you can go back to the windows defender menu and select the firewall and network section then go to the rule settings and reset them to default settings. if you are still having troubles you need to uninstall your browser and try running scans again. Also make sure you reset your browsers security settings and check for any third party extensions. this should do it if not click are support section below for a live customer support agent.
